Influenza, also known
as the flu, is a disease caused by the influenza virus. Generally, it is not
considered as a life threatening disease anymore, however it caused severe
damage back in 1918. Now days with the advancement in medical sciences this
disease can be recovered in within a week or two. But it doesn’t mean
that you can take influenza casually because every other person may develop
life-threatening complications such as pneumonia because of this medical
condition. People that are more likely to develop life-threatening
complications include old people (above 65), children (between 6 and 23 months

Influenza is a virus it causes flu. The main area of attack of flu virus in the
human body is nose, throat and lungs. Flu virus has a capability to spread from
one person to another. When a person affected by the flu virus coughs speaks or
sneezes, he spreads the virus into the air and the other people around him
inhale it. It can also spread when a person touches a surface with flu virus
and then touches his mouth or nose.
Flu Symptoms
Like all the other virus flu virus also multiplies rapidly when they enter the mouth or lungs of a human body. It comes on suddenly and is hard to identify at the beginning because when the infected person gets to know about it, the virus had already multiplied several thousand times in the human body. However, some topical symptoms include Dry Cough, Muscle aches, high fever, headache and sore throat. In children vomiting and diarrhea can also occur as a symptom.
Flu Treatment
As you feel that you have caught a flu virus, it is highly recommended to consult your doctor to test that you have not developed any life-complication disease. If life-threatening complications are found then strictly follow the instructions of the doctor to kill the disease at the beginning from its root. However, if you feel that the flu has not caused any other disease then you can simply take care of it at home. The best way of curing flu is by getting plenty of rest, drinking a lot of liquids also helps and make sure you don’t use alcohol and tobacco as they may replicate the condition. In Pakistan the best medication for the flu virus is joshanda (herbal powder). Mix the joshanda in tea or hot water and drink the solution two or three times a day.
Flu Prevention
- Avoid close contact with the people that are affected by the flu virus.
- If you have flu make sure others don’t catch the disease from you by covering your mouth and nose with tissue while coughing and sneezing.
Don’t touch your face, eyes or nose unless you are sure that your hands are clean.
