When Hazart Adam and Hawa (A.S) were living in paradise Allah ordered them to enjoy all the things but not to eat the fruit of a specific tree. As it is mentioned in the glorious Quran:
“They said: “O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and eat of the bountiful things therein as (where and when) ye will; but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression.”
They were living happily in paradise but the Satan (Iblis) lured them to eat that fruit as mentioned in the Quran:
“Then did Satan make them slip from the (garden), and get them out of the state (of felicity) in which they had been. We said: “Get ye down, all (ye people), with some of you having enmity towards others. On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood – for a time.”
Hazrat Adam’s Dua
When Hazrat Adam and Hawa (A.s) dwelled to earth for their transgression they repented on their mistake. They were feeling remorse and grief for their doings. At that time Hazrat Adam prays to Allah for their forgiveness. That Dua is mentioned in Quran.
“They said: ‘Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers’”
[Surah al-A’raaf 7:23]
As Hazrat Adam didn’t know how to ask forgiveness Allah teaches them this Dua words and then forgives him as he is the most merciful. It is mentioned in Quran as
“Then Adam received from his Lord Words. And his Lord pardoned him (accepted his repentance). Verily, He is the One Who forgives (accepts repentance), the Most Merciful”
[Surah al-Baqarah 2:37]
History of Hazrat Adam
When Allah tells his angels that he is going to create mankind on earth, his angels asked that these people will be the reason of destruction then why to create them. It is mentioned in the Quran as
“Verily, I am going to place mankind generations after generations on earth.’ They (the angels) said: ‘Will You place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood, while we (the angels) glorify You with praises and thanks and sanctify You?’ God said: ‘I know that which you do not know.”
When Allah the beneficent and merciful created Adam (A.S) and show angels what Adam can do than the things happening are mentioned in the Glorious Quran
“And He taught Adam the names – all of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, “Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful.” They said: “Glory to Thee (said the angels), of knowledge We have none, save what Thou Hast taught us: In truth, it is Thou Who art perfect in knowledge and wisdom.” He said: “O Adam! Tell them their names.” When he had told them, God said (to the angels): “Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of heaven and earth, and I know what to reveal and what to conceal?”
After this, all the angels bow down to Adam at the order except Iblis (Satan) because he feels proud for he is made of fire. For this he was rejected and expelled from heaven and this is also mentioned in Quran as
“And behold, We said to the angels: “Bow down to Adam” and they bowed down. Not so Iblis: he refused He was of those who reject faith (those who are disobedient).”
